Internships
We want to ensure our students are not only getting the best internship experiences but are also being fairly compensated for their work. When hiring an intern, please consider the Department of Labor's Fair Labor Standard Act to determine whether an intern should be paid. Fact Sheet #71: Internship Programs Under The Fair Labor Standards Act, authored by the U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division, is a useful resource to determine if your organization is passing the test for unpaid interns.Additional information regarding paid internships can be found on the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) website.
