Inspired by an antique coffee grinder, this wall encapsulates the rotational and slidng movements found on the object. The design is simple and minimalistic, yet yeilds a variety of complicated spaces within it’s walls, just as the coffee grinder does. The individual panels, each supported by two cables suspended from the frame above, are made of wood and slide along a track embedded into the path. The panels can be arranged in such a way to completely close off or open up to the outside space with the inner layer surrounding a grass divet into the ground. The central dip in landscaping allows for a dynamic resting and viewing space for art that would be displayed on site, while allowing sense of privacy to those in the center.
