There is a need to address the rise in infectious diseases for the Nubian people. There is, also, a need for increased local clinics for the local population and medical tourists to Aswan. The population in rural Egypt and northern Sudan is predisposed to vector-borne diseases, respiratory illnesses, mental health disorders and womens health. An innovative medical district in Aswan would be a magnet for the displaced Nubian population and the people of Central Africa who have less access to comprehensive medical care. This medical campus would be built to address the needs of these scattered people. The Taharqa Hospital Park will take advantage of the existing wadi ecological condition in order to create healing environments inspired by the determined and ferocious Nubian people. The vegetative cover in the area will be expanded in order to increase the ecosystem services of the area and, also, create healing and therapeutic environments for the patients. Also, the design will create outdoor dining and recreation opportunities for employees of the medical park in order to increase the sustainability of the workforce in rural Egypt.
