Social and economic functions of human settlements are expressed through human behaviors ad relations in private and public environments. The form vs. function debates are related to modernism and postmodernism, structuralism and poststructuralism and realism and constructivism. The notion of space, of social realms, spatial relations and physical components, an example of which are building neighborhoods, cities and regions. Spacial design is one of the important modifiers in social relations.
