Office of Teaching and Learning Scholars Events

The Co-Directors of the CAFLS Teaching and Learning Scholars will host forums for faculty to promote community among teaching scholars. Faculty who published in the Land-Grant Press Teaching Section will be invited to present their papers for discussion and showcase their innovative instructional strategies. Other topics of interest to faculty related to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning focused on improving teaching effectiveness will also be highlighted and discussed.

Today’s discussion will teach you how to analyze the data collected from your course evaluation to answer the questions:

  1. Quantitative data: What do the numbers mean?
  2. Qualitative data: How should comments be analyzed to improve course/teaching?
  3. How do I use my course evaluation to reflect on my teaching practices to show evidence of effective teaching?

This discussion will focus on how to differentiate between outlining course content and how to teach the content in the course as you plan for instruction. We will explain how both the content in the course you teach and the methods and strategies you use to teach the content affect your teaching and impact student learning.
