The Purpose of the Commission

Founded in 2022, the Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) Commission exists to support the appreciation, understanding, and safety of the APIDA population at Clemson University and the community. By promoting the rich culture and significant contributions of the Clemson APIDA population, the Commission’s objectives align with the goals of Community, engagement, belonging and access in supporting the key pillars of Clemson Elevate. The APIDA Commission values plurality of thought in achieving these goals and works constantly to foster a sense of belonging for all APIDA persons to teach, do research, enjoy a comprehensive on-campus experience, and to live harmoniously in Clemson and the surrounding communities.
