Faculty Resources
Shape the Future of Research
Faculty members at Clemson University can significantly benefit from involvement in summer REU programs. By mentoring undergraduate researchers, you'll play a crucial role in developing the next generation of scientists and scholars. You'll have the opportunity to guide students in honing their research skills, from formulating hypotheses and designing experiments to analyzing data and presenting results.
This mentorship not only accelerates your current research projects but also allows you to identify and nurture potential graduate students for your future research teams. The REU program serves as an excellent recruitment tool, enabling you to work closely with promising undergraduates who may become valuable additions to Clemson's graduate programs.
Additionally, these programs offer opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, both within Clemson and with other institutions, enhancing your professional network and research profile. Participating in REU programs can lead to improved teaching methods, stronger grant-writing skills, and the satisfaction of shaping emerging researchers, all while contributing to Clemson's reputation as a leader in undergraduate research experiences and graduate student development.
If you are a faculty contact (PI, faculty mentor, director, program coordinator, etc.) and have a summer research program funded for Summer 2025, please complete our Summer Research Program form.
