The 4-H Pinckney Leadership Program is a program designed for middle and high school students who are looking to develop their leadership abilities and awareness of civic engagement. Founded after the late Senator Clementa Pinckney, the program aims to set forth the standards and principles valued by Senator Pinckney. Our goal is to empower students to lead with humility, serve with compassion, and inspire others through integrity.
About Civic Engagement
4-H Civic Engagement programs empower young people to become well-informed, active citizens in their communities and the world. These programs focus on civic government, leadership, and service, helping youth develop crucial skills in decision-making, critical thinking, and teamwork. Participants learn about civic affairs, build confidence, and connect with others while engaging in community action and service projects. Through hands-on experiences, 4-H'ers contribute thousands of hours to their communities, learning the importance of giving back and developing innovative solutions to problems. The programs equip youth with leadership skills, compassion, and pride, preparing them to be effective leaders both now and in the future.

Our Programs
South Carolina 4-H Legislative Day provides 4-H members a unique opportunity to promote the South Carolina 4-H program to elected state officials. Participants share their personal 4-H stories with legislators and discuss the benefits of their local Clemson University Cooperative Extension programming in their home communities.
The 4-H Ambassador Program enhances and utilizes the leadership, citizenship, and communication skills of 4-H teens. We strengthen and expand upon 4-H Ambassadors’ current leadership abilities so that they may serve as positive role models for younger youth; build meaningful partnerships with other teens, adult volunteers, and 4-H professionals; and promote the 4-H mission in South Carolina. These 4-H Ambassadors will be better prepared to educate the public about the South Carolina 4-H Program and the various youth and community issues 4-H addresses.
