Libby Hoyle

Mrs. Libby Hoyle began her career as a home economist in Newberry County. She then continued by working for Extension’s Expanded Food and Nutrition Program in Colleton County. She also served as Associate County Home Economist in Lexington County, as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Home Economics, and as a Nutrition Specialist. Her major extension service contributions include Your Day Radio Program which reached approximately 20,000 people, teaching ServSafe to over 6,000 food service employees, and developing many 4-H Foods Programs. She also developed Special Interest Camps in the area of Foods for youth, conducted 4-H Food Contests at the State Fair, and developed a Breads awards trip to White Lilly each year.

James S. Jones

Mr. James S. Jones served as a Clemson Agricultural Extension Agent in Abbeville County from 1962 to 1993. He helped to establish Master Gardener and Clemson Leadership Programs in several counties. As well as, established the first Cattleman’s Association and first Farmer’s Market in Abbeville, and worked with surrounding counties to establish their own programs. Lever Hall of Fame is an addition to his long list of awards. He has been awarded 1972/1973 SC County Extension Agent of the Year, Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of County Agents, and Distinguished Service Award for Clemson Alumni.

Frank McAlhany

Mr. Frank McAlhany worked for Clemson Extension for 31 years. During this time he served as Assistant and Associate County Agent in Dorchester County. In this position, he was greatly involved in Dairy Programs, Livestock Programs, Agronomy Programs, and 4-H. He then served as Associate County Agent and County Extension Director in Bamberg County, conducting educational programs, field demonstrations, tours, and workshops.

Thomas B. Tillman

Mr. Thomas B. Tillman served Clemson Extension from 1950 to 1981 as a County Extension Agent and Leader. He started the Wateree Pest Management Association for 25,000 acres of cotton, assisted in the development of Sumter Dairies, was known to have the strongest 4-H program in the state, carried numerous 4-H livestock judging teams to Chicago, and produced the SCETV program “Ag Today” which later became “Making It Grow”.
