Amgen Scholars Program

The Amgen Scholars Program is an undergraduate summer research program in science and biotechnology at some of the world’s premier research universities and institutes. Students conduct hands-on lab research alongside top faculty, participate in seminars and networking events, and take part in symposia with their peers and leading scientists. Program dates will vary but are 8-10 weeks between May and August. The Program’s goal is to increase learning and networking opportunities for students committed to pursuing science or engineering careers and to increase the number of students pursuing advanced training and careers in the sciences. Each of the 14 host institutions has its own application process, and applicants can apply to participate at as many host institutions as they are interested in. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident in the United States, must be enrolled in accredited four-year colleges or universities in the U.S., and they must be sophomores (three semesters of college experience), juniors, or non-graduating seniors. Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or above and an interest in pursing a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D.
