American Association of University Women (Selected Professions Fellowship)

Awards up to $20,000 to women who intend to pursue a full-time course of study at accredited U.S. institutions during the fellowship year in one of the designated degree programs where women’s participation traditionally has been low.

American-Scandinavian Foundation Fellowships and Grants

The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) offers year-long fellowships (up to $23,000) and short-term fellowships (up to $5,000) to individuals to pursue research or study in one or more Scandinavian country for up to one year.

Astronaut Scholarship

The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation awards 60 scholarships valued up to $15,000 to selected scholars seeking a STEM degree with intentions to pursue research or advance their field upon completion of their final degrees.

Boren Scholarship and Fellowship

Boren Scholarships (undergraduates) and Fellowships (graduates) provide funding opportunities for U.S. students to pursue study abroad with a language component in world regions, languages, and fields critical to U.S. interests.

Bridging Scholarships

The Bridging Project offers scholarships to American undergraduate students participating in study-abroad programs in Japan.

Churchill Scholarship

The Churchill Scholarship provides funding to U.S. students to pursue a 1-year master’s program in a STEM field at the University of Cambridge.

Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) for Young Professionals

CBYX for Young Professionals annually provides 75 American and 75 German young professionals the opportunity to spend one year in each other’s countries, studying, interning, and living with hosts on a cultural immersion program.

Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program

CLS offers intensive summer language institutes overseas in fifteen critical need foreign languages. The Institutes provide group-based intensive language instruction and cultural enrichment experiences for students of all classifications and fields.

DAAD RISE (Summer Research)

DAAD RISE offers undergraduate students from North American, British and Irish universities the opportunity to complete a summer research internship at top German universities and research institutions.

DAAD Scholarships

The German Academic (Exchange Service (DAAD) is the German national agency for the support of international academic cooperation. DAAD offers a variety of funding opportunities for students in a range of classifications.

Freeman-ASIA

The Freeman-ASIA program provides funding for Pell grant eligible students who plan to study abroad in East or Southeast Asia.

Fulbright U.K. Summer Institutes

The US-UK Fulbright Commission offers Summer Institutes for US citizens to come to the UK on 3-4 week university programs. U.S. first and second-year undergraduates with little to no travel experience outside North America are eligible.

Fulbright U.S. Student Program

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides grants for individually designed study/research projects or English Teaching Assistantships. During their grants, Fulbrighters will meet, work, live with and learn from the people of the host country.

Gates Cambridge Scholarships

The Gates Cambridge Scholarships are highly competitive full-cost scholarships. They are awarded to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject offered by the University of Cambridge.

Gilman International Scholarship Program

The Gilman International Scholarship Program offers grants for Pell Grant eligible undergraduates to pursue study abroad. The program broadens participation by supporting students who might not study abroad due to financial constraints.

Gilman-McCain Scholarship

Gilman-McCain provides awards for child and spousal dependents of active or activated U.S. military personnel during the time of application to study or intern abroad, and receiving any type of Title IV federal financial aid.

Goldwater Scholarship

The Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program awards scholarships to outstanding sophomores and juniors who intend to pursue careers in science, mathematics, and engineering. Research experience required.

Hertz Foundation Graduate Fellowships

The Hertz Fellowship provides up to five years of graduate education funding for the nation’s most promising students in science and technology. Applicants must be students in the applied physical, biological and engineering sciences.

Hollings Scholarship

The Hollings Scholarship Program supports students majoring in STEM fields relevant to NOAA's programs and mission. Provides for funding during the academic year, as well as a 10-week, full-time summer internship at a NOAA facility.

James C. Gaither Junior Fellows

The James C. Gaither Junior Fellows program supports a one-year research assistantship at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington D.C. Graduating seniors and recent graduates are eligible to apply.

Knight-Hennessy Scholars

The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program is a fellowship program for students interested in pursuing graduate study at Stanford University across a wide variety of fields. Each scholar will receive full funding for their graduate program at Stanford.

Luce Scholars Program

The Luce Scholars Program offers early-career leaders immersive, professional experiences in Asia. The program provides stipends, language training, and individualized professional placement in Asia for 18 Luce Scholars each year.

Madison Memorial Fellowship

The Madison Fellowship Foundation supports individuals desiring to become outstanding teachers of the American Constitution at the secondary school level. Generally, one Fellowship per state is awarded each year.

Marshall Scholarship

Marshall Scholarships allow approximately 50 high-ability young Americans to study in the United Kingdom each year. The Scholarships may be used at any British university and cover 1-2 years of study in any discipline at the graduate level.

McCall McBain Scholarship

McCall MacBain Scholars connect with mentors and participate in an interdisciplinary leadership program while pursuing a fully funded master’s or professional degree at McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship (NDSEG)

The National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship is a highly competitive, portable fellowship that is awarded to U.S. citizens and nationals who intend to pursue a doctoral degree in a supported discipline.

National Institutes of Health (NIH) Undergraduate Scholarships

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Undergraduate Scholarship Program (UGSP) offers scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are committed to careers in biomedical, behavioral, and social science health-related research.

National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP)

The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) recognizes outstanding students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines, pursuing research-based graduate degrees at accredited US institutions.

Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans

The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans supports New Americans— immigrants or the children of immigrants—who are pursuing graduate or professional school in the United States.

Payne Fellowship

The Payne Fellowship Program provides up to $52,000 annually for a two-year master’s program in international development or another field relevant to the USAID mission.

Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship

Each year, The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi awards 62 Fellowships ranging from $8,500 to $35,000 to members entering their first year of graduate or professional study.

Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant

Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants are designed to help support undergraduates as they seek knowledge and experience in their academic fields by studying abroad.

Pickering Graduate Foreign Affairs Fellowships

The Pickering Fellowship funds a two-year graduate degree at a U.S. based institution in international affairs or another area of relevance to the work of the U.S. Foreign Service.

Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Junior Summer Institute

The PPIA Junior Summer Institute is a seven-week intensive program at a partner university the summer before senior year for students seeking a graduate degree in public policy, public administration, international affairs or a related field.

Quad Fellowship

This program sponsors 100 exceptional American, Japanese, Australian, and Indian master’s and doctoral students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to study in the United States.

Rangel Graduate Fellowship Program

The Rangel Program offers 45 graduate fellowships to outstanding seniors and graduates who intend to join the Foreign Service.

Rangel Summer Enrichment Program

Rhodes Scholarship

Truman Scholarship

The Harry S. Truman Scholarship is a merit-based grant which identifies college juniors with exceptional leadership potential who are committed to careers in government, the nonprofit or advocacy sectors, education or elsewhere in public service.

Udall Scholarship

The Udall Foundation awards scholarships to college sophomores and juniors for leadership, public service, and commitment to issues related to Native American nations or to the environment.

Voyager Scholarship

The Voyager Scholarship gives college students financial aid to alleviate the burden of college debt, meaningful travel experiences to expand their horizons, and a network of mentors and leaders to support them.

Yenching Academy Fellowship
