Major Fellowships
Project Horseshoe Farm Community Health Fellowship
Project Horseshoe Farm’s Community Health Fellowship is an exciting gap year opportunity for students interested in improving the health of underserved communities through direct service in Alabama and California. This fellowship aims to prepare the next generation of community health and citizen service leaders through a one-year educational grant for top recent college graduates. Fellows experience and learn a way of engaging, navigating, and working effectively with local communities and local institutions. Applicants can apply for any location or all 3 locations (Greensboro and Perry County, Alabama or the Pomona Site in California). Horseshoe Farm accepts applicants from the full spectrum of majors and backgrounds who have an interest in the potential for community-based service leadership. The Fellowships provides housing and utilities free of charge, an educational grant/transportation reimbursement ($800-$1050/month), and a small relocation grant to partially offset the cost of moving ($100-$300). Fellows are required to have their own car and an active driver’s license before starting the Fellowship. Applicants with a valid visa and the legal right to work in the U.S. are eligible. The Fellowship begins in late June or early July and ends in mid-July of the following year.
