Major Fellowships
Hollings Preparation Program (HPP)
The Hollings Preparation Program (HPP) prepares first year undergraduates to be competitive applicants for the full National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Hollings Scholarship in their sophomore year of college. HPP scholars will be paired with NOAA mentors primarily on the West Coast (California, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, and Alaksa) for six weeks during the summer and will receive a $500 scholarship and a $4,000 stipend. Awardees also receive assistance in applying for the full Hollings Scholarship in the fall. First year students who are interested in pursing NOAA-related science, research, policy, management, and education who had a minimum 3.0 GPA in their last year of high school, and are a U.S. citizen with health insurance are eligible to apply.
