The Oak Room
The Oak Room is a designated, private space on campus for students who have been impacted by any form of interpersonal violence. The room could be used for:
- Studying
- Resting
- Virtual Meetings
- Meditating
- Stretching
- Decompressing
And anything else you need in order to take care of yourself.
-
Must I receive IVR services to use the space?
No, you can use the Oak Room even if you are not connected to IVR services. However, we operate in good faith; trusting that students requesting access to the space have been affected by interpersonal violence.
-
May I bring a friend into the space with me?
Yes, you may bring a friend into the space with you. However, out of respect and for privacy purposes, we ask that you do not share the location openly.
-
What I do if I don’t need the space anymore?
No worries! However, we do ask that you cancel your reservation as quickly as possible to open the space up for other students who may wish to use the space during that time.
