    Pickens County Advocacy Center provides immediate 24-hour response to sexual assault victims and their families through medical, court, and law enforcement escort, educational programs, information and referral, legal advocacy, and support services.

    First Light is a nonprofit community agency that provides sexual trauma crisis services and counseling to survivors of sexual violence, including children and adults in Anderson and Oconee Counties.

    Julie Valentine Center
    The Julie Valentine Center is a nonprofit organization that provides free, confidential services to sexual assault and child abuse survivors and their families in Greenville County.

    Safe Harbor
    Safe Harbor offers advocacy services to individuals impacted by recent or past domestic violence in     Anderson, Pickens, Greenville, and Oconee counties. Local Hospitals

Survivors of physical and/or sexual violence may need to seek immediate medical attention. In the case of a sexual assault, DNA evidence can be collected from the crime scene, but it can also be collected from the body, clothes, and other personal belongings. Survivors may choose to have a sexual assault forensic exam, sometimes known as a “rape kit,” to preserve possible DNA evidence and receive important medical care. Survivors don’t have to report the crime to have an exam, but the process gives you the chance to safely store evidence should you decide to report at a later time.
