Profile

Dr. Lucy Chernykh is the Wells Fargo Professor of Banking. Her research centers on international finance and financial stability, with a primary focus on the Russian banking market and regulation. Her work is featured in several premier finance journals, including the Journal of Financial Economics, Management Science, Review of Corporate Finance Studies, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, and the Journal of Financial Stability.

Dr. Chernykh has held multiple academic leadership roles, such as serving on the Board of Directors for the Eastern Finance and Southern Finance Associations, and as a Track Chair and Executive Committee member for various academic finance conferences. She is currently an Associate Editor for the Journal of Financial Research.

In addition to her editorial work, Dr. Chernykh is an active member of the Clemson University community. She serves as the Senator for the College of Business in the Faculty Senate, a member of the Faculty Senate Research, Scholarship and Creative Endeavors Committee, the Vice-Chair of the College of Business Faculty Advisory Council, and a member of the Global Engagement Committee.

Dr. Chernykh is also the recent recipient of the Powers College of Business Senior Scholar Research Excellence in Finance Award.
