Profile
With over three decades of experience spanning corporate finance and academic teaching, I bring multifaceted expertise to Management education.
My corporate and educational experiences are rooted in a bachelor’s degree in economics from a top-tier university in Brazil (Federal University of Bahia) and an MBA in Finance and Business Consulting from the University of Connecticut (UConn), complemented by certifications in Investor Relations and Accounting. I contributed to corporate environments for over two decades, working on significant projects, complex initiatives, and financial management. My roles encompassed pivotal responsibilities, including pricing management, strategic financial support for sales teams, and overseeing projects involving the NYSE and government agencies like the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Postal Services.
My professional path took a transformative turn when I ventured into academia. Over the past eight years, I have dedicated myself to molding the next generation of business leaders, teaching International Business, Small Business Management, and Venture Planning, Management & Growth courses at UConn and Clemson University.
My overarching mission is to empower students with a dynamic blend of academic insights and real-world acumen, bridging the gap between theory and practical application. I am enthusiastic about teaching International Business, leveraging my global perspective cultivated through traveling in over 40 countries. Learning new languages is one of my passions; I am a native Portuguese speaker, have a good command of French, and can understand Spanish and Italian.
Beyond the classroom, I have actively participated in service and outreach roles, serving on steering committees and contributing to community support initiatives. I have been treasurer on the HOA Board of a residential community in Greenville, SC, for the past four years.
As I continue my journey in academia, I am excited to bring my extensive experience and unwavering dedication to my teaching, propelling the growth and success of my students.
