Profile

Capt Erin P. Pennell is an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies at Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 770, Clemson University, South Carolina. In her role, Capt Pennell helps facilitate training and education for over 150 cadets as they pursue a commission in the United States Air and Space Forces.

Capt Pennell earned her undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Economics from Clemson University in 2017. In that same year, she received her commission through AFROTC Det 770 at Clemson University. Capt Pennell is an intelligence officer, serving as an all-source analyst with experience in all forms of intelligence collection and exploitation.

Prior to her current assignment, Capt Pennell served as the Intelligence Flight Commander for both the B-1b Formal Training Unit and B-1b operational squadron at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas. From 2019 into 2020, She deployed with Special Operations Command Central as the Deputy Intelligence Director forward, tracking the Iranian Threat Network across the U.S. Central Command Theater. Prior to her deployment, Capt Pennell served as a Crew Commander and the Officer in Charge of the Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) Operations Center at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia.
