Keith Hudgins joined the department 2019 as a Lecturer.
Hudgins graduated from Clemson in 1982 with a BS in Financial Management. He began his career in the manufacturing industry with Becton-Dickinson and Company in Sumter, SC. At B-D, he held the positions of cost analyst and manufacturing supervisor. In 1986, he joined Square D Company (now Schneider Electric). Between assignments in Columbia, SC and Raleigh, NC he held the positions of cost accountant, cost supervisor, senior financial analyst, plant controller, and plant manager. In 2003, he and his business partner purchased Square D’s crane control product line and re-established a 118-year-old brand - EC&M. EC&M operated from its 86,000 square foot manufacturing facility in St. Matthews, SC for twelve years until the company was sold to Hubbell, Inc., in 2015.
Hudgins was a member of the advisory board of The Spiro Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership (2015-2023), is an investor with the VentureSouth Angel network, Finance Vector Co-Chair with the Brook T. Smith Launchpad, prior member of the Tri County Technical College Board of Visitors and has been an occasional guest speaker at Clemson in undergraduate and graduate courses.
Hudgins is also a member of an investor partnership of several Clemson graduates who purchased two historic properties in Pendleton, SC. The team is currently executing a historic renovation of these two iconic buildings.
He and his wife, Jennie, are the parents of two Clemson graduates. Their son, Thomas, earned his BA and MPA at Clemson. Thomas is married to Taylor, a Clemson graduate with a BA in Psychology. Their daughter, Martha, received her BS and MS from Clemson in Plant and Environmental Sciences. Martha is married to Daniel Froelich, a Clemson graduate with a degree in Marketing. They live in the Clemson/Greenville area.
