Current Position with SBDC
Katrina Meeks is the Area Manager and Business Consultant at the South Carolina Small Business Development Center (SC SBDC) in Spartanburg. She has been with the SC SBDC since March 15, 2021. In her role, Katrina provides comprehensive support to small business owners, guiding them through the complexities of business operations and helping them navigate challenges.
Academic and Professional Background
Katrina began her professional journey in the field of Human Resources over three decades ago. Throughout her career, she has held diverse positions such as Director of Human Resources, Senior Health Care Recruiter, Talent Acquisition Partner, HR Business Partner, HR Branch Manager, and CEO across various industries, including Manufacturing, Engineering, and Healthcare. Katrina also owned and operated a recruiting firm, achieving annual sales of over one million dollars. She is a proud alumnus of Clemson University, where she earned her MBA degree.
Recognition
Katrina has been instrumental in organizing and delivering the Minority Financial Summit, a webinar designed to advance and foster lender relationships for minority-owned small businesses. She also received SBDC’s 2024 Individual Achievement Award.
Katrina previously received the Supervisor of the Year award from Verizon Wireless and the President’s Cup award for her work in human resources from Fluor Daniel.
Personal Life
Katrina is dedicated to her work and community, often balancing her professional responsibilities with her personal life.
