Terry has been teaching at Clemson University since 2013, his retirement as a Partner with Deloitte & Touche LLP (one of the Big 4 CPA firms) where he had 36 years of experience performing audits of publicly-held and privately-held companies principally in the retail, manufacturing and distribution industries. He was involved with IPO's, public and private debt offerings, and many merger & acquisition/disposition transactions (up to $4 billion in acquisition cost). Terry traveled extensively to co-ordinate audits throughout the world, including China, Hong Kong, Poland, the Czech Republic, Italy, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the UK.
At Deloitte, Terry lead the Firm's recruiting of accountants at Clemson for over 20 years and hired hundreds of accounting graduates. While at Deloitte, he also served on the Clemson Accounting Department's external Advisory Board.
Terry has been a CPA for over 40 years and is a member of the American Institute of CPA's and the South Carolina Association of CPA's. He is Clemson's faculty representative for student membership in the South Carolina Association of CPA's.
In 2018, Terry was awarded the College of Business "Undergraduate Teaching Excellence Award for 2017 - 2018".
