Combined B.S. to M.S. Program
Accelerated B.S. to Graduate Degree Path
Seniors with an overall GPA of at least 3.4 are eligible to request participation in the Combined Bachelor’s/Master’s Plan. Seniors with a 3.0 or higher GPA are eligible to request enrollment in graduate-level courses.
Under this plan, students can get a head-start on graduate studies during their senior year and reduce the time needed to earn both the B.S. and M.S. degrees by applying graduate credits to both undergraduate and graduate program requirements. Interested students need to complete the GS6 B.S./M.S. form. The GRE is not required for admission to the B.S./M.S. program.

Program Guidelines
- Consult with an advisor in your intended area of graduate study before taking any graduate-level courses.
- The graduate courses taken as an undergraduate student will be listed in your graduate Plan of Study.
- Students in the B.S./M.S. program are conditionally accepted to the graduate program pending the completion of the B.S. degree.
- Typically, courses taken as a B.S./M.S. student are not transferable to other programs, either at Clemson or other schools.
- B.S./M.S. students in their final undergraduate semester may also take a limited number of 6000-level or 8000-level courses to be used for future graduate credit only.

Requirements to Complete Both Degrees
- Undergraduate students must have an overall GPR of 3.4 or better and must have completed the junior year prior to taking graduate courses. Students are required to maintain this minimum GPR to continue enrollment in a combined degree program.
- Up to 12 semester hours from any 6000-level or 8000-level Computer Engineering course may be used to satisfy the requirements of their B.S. degree. These courses will be counted as technical electives.
- The combined bachelor’s/master’s degree must have a minimum combined total of 150 credit hours. This total may contain a maximum of 6 credit hours of thesis research, and all credit hours to be included from courses taken after receiving the baccalaureate degree must be in 6000 or higher-level courses.

Applying to the B.S. to M.S. Program
Application for this program should be made by the end of the junior year but no later than one semester prior to the expected B.S. graduation. Application details are available in the Academic Regulations section of the Graduate School Announcements.
How to Apply
The GS6-Bachelor-to-Graduate Plan form will serve as your application to the combined graduate program – no additional application is required. However, while the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is not mandatory, some fellowship applications may require GRE scores.
