route and rocket

As you consider your future in engineering at Clemson, you're stepping into a world of incredible opportunity. The demand for professionals in these fields is skyrocketing, and Clemson is ready to prepare you not just for a job but for a transformative career.

Picture entering a field where job growth is projected at 5% across all disciplines from 2021 to 2031, with some areas potentially seeing growth as high as 15%. That's the exciting landscape you're looking at with a degree from Clemson.

Your degree is your pathway to a career that makes a difference. And with so many exciting fields to choose from, it’s important to know what kind of engineer you want to be. That’s why Clemson’s General Engineering program begins with an exploration of the world of engineering.

Every student who plans to major in engineering starts with admittance to General Engineering. Students spend their first year taking courses designed to bridge the gap between high school and college-level learning while examining the 11 undergraduate engineering disciplines offered at Clemson. From there, students determine which specialty best fits their talents and interests.

Your investment in a Clemson degree is set to pay off in a big way. Envision yourself among the 97% of engineering graduates who see a return of at least $500,000 on their degree, or even better, the 69% who reach or exceed $1 million. In fact, nine of the top ten majors with the highest median salaries within five years of graduation are engineering degrees. That's the kind of high-payoff future you're positioning yourself for with Clemson University.
