Staff Excellence Award

The College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences Staff Excellence Award recognizes outstanding classified employees (technical and non-technical) for performance, achievement, or accomplishments above those normally expected. Nominee must exceed expectations in contributions towards their department/unit, contributions towards Clemson Elevate metrics, leadership initiatives, supporting research, and student success; these impacts must be clearly articulated in nomination. The winner of this award will be chosen by a committee made up of the Dean, Associate Dean, Chief of Staff, Department Chair, and Chair of the Staff Awards Committee for the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences.

Nominee Eligibility

• All Classified Staff (Technical or Non-Technical)
• Staff must have been in their current position for at least one full year
• Recipients of the Dean’s Exceptional Staff Awards, in the same year, are not eligible for the CECAS Staff Excellence Award
• Staff must have at least a successful EPMS evaluation for the prior year and are currently not under any disciplinary action.

Nomination Criteria

• Demonstrative contributions to their unit or college, and the Clemson Elevate metrics, which result in improvement in service or effectiveness.
• Demonstrative contributions, which result in more efficient and cost-effective operations.
• Achieved significant self-improvement goals through participation in professional development activities and/or seeking advanced degree.
• Demonstrative evidence of taking initiative to learn and excel at new methods and techniques.
• Demonstrative evidence of creating and implementing new procedures or processes.
• Demonstrative evidence of outstanding quality and quantity of work.
• Displays comprehensive knowledge and confidence in their field.
• Exhibits high levels of loyalty and enthusiasm in their role.
• Regarded by co-workers as a role model.
• Takes extraordinary ownership of new challenges and techniques.

Other Information

The winner of the CECAS Staff Excellence Award will be announced at the annual CECAS staff awards ceremony. This award comes with a $1000 stipend and a plaque presented to the recipient. Please feel free to contact Dana Simpson (daberna@clemson.edu) with any questions or concerns.
