Profile/About Me
Bill Pennington is Alumni Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Chemistry at Clemson University. He received a B.A. in chemistry at Hendrix College, a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry working with Wally Cordes at the University of Arkansas, and did postdoctoral work with Iain Paul and David Curtin at the University of Illinois. After two years in industry at Molecular Structure Corporation, he moved to Clemson, where he has worked for the last 30+ years.
Research Interests
Halogen bonding, crystal chemistry, and the use of polydiacetylenes as bio-and chemicosensors.
