The Clemson University School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences engages in a number of outreach activities for Clemson University and local communities.
The department values its relationships with its partners and alumni. The faculty, students and staff in the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences are passionate to generate new knowledge through their research and to share their knowledge and expertise with the broader public through a variety of outreach programs.

Launching Careers
Expo Connects Local Companies to Mathematics Students
The School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences and the Clemson Actuarial Club regularly host the Actuarial/Financial Math Expo on the Clemson University campus. Representatives from 15 companies were present to discuss internships and full-time positions at their firms at the last expo. “Hosting the expo is a tangible way of demonstrating to students that we want to help them to achieve their professional goals [as well as helping] alumni recruiters remain connected to the program,” says Mark Cawood, senior lecturer in mathematical and statistical sciences.
