Portfolio Day Registration
PORTFOLIO DAY
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2024
9 AM - 12 PM
Art and artists thrive on the campus of Clemson University! We are a top-25 comprehensive university with the resources and facilities to offer students excellent educational opportunities in the visual arts. Our team-taught undergraduate and graduate art programs have an art-school feel with the benefits of a large research university. Clemson is an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), and our art and design programs meet the procedures, standards, and guidelines of NASAD through an ongoing process of self-evaluation and peer review designed to ensure educational quality in our curriculum and operations.
We invite you to join us for our Portfolio Day on Saturday, October 5, 2024. This year, we will have both in-person and online portfolio reviews available. Please indicate on the form below which option you would prefer.
You will receive valuable information about Clemson programs and opportunities, as well as our Art major requirements and courses in Animation, Ceramics, Digital Arts Media, Drawing, Graphic Design, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Photography, and Art History. Learn about careers and facilities from our students and meet our faculty to discuss your work.

Who should attend?
Students from all high school levels are invited; junior and senior students are especially encouraged to attend. Seniors who will apply to Clemson for admission as a B.A. Art or BFA Visual Art major are encouraged to share their portfolio for consideration of department scholarships. Current college students looking to transfer to Clemson are also welcome! Note: A portfolio review is not required for admission to the Visual Art major at Clemson, but it is required for consideration of scholarship opportunities.
The B.A. and BFA programs are small, allowing for close interaction between students and teachers in the studio and classroom. With most studio courses averaging 10-15 students, individual instruction is a high priority. This one-on-one contact with faculty is key to advancing both technical skill and conceptual understanding.
Our students are encouraged to explore, achieve and create through immersion in a rigorous course of study that includes studio techniques, conceptual directions and art history.
The student undergraduate experience is enhanced by professional activities with faculty; Creative Inquiry projects like Clemson’s public art program; internships with Clemson’s Makerspace and Adobe Digital Studio, as well as local and national companies and arts organizations; field trips to art centers in Charlotte, Columbia, Atlanta, New York City and Washington, D.C.; interaction with visiting artists; and opportunities for local and regional exhibitions.
Whether you plan a career in making, teaching or managing art, you’ll leave Clemson having had numerous opportunities to explore your abilities and develop your creativity.
