College-Level Scholarships

Overview

We encourage applications for college-level scholarships from undergraduate students of all backgrounds and experiences who can demonstrate scholastic excellence, civic or citizenship engagement, and character and leadership development. The specific eligibility criteria for each scholarship varies.

Please read the criteria and details for each scholarship carefully.

George E. and Leila Giles Singleton Scholarship

Deadline: April 15

This scholarship is awarded over both the fall and spring semesters.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • 3.00 GPA
  • Enrolled in College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences major
  • Resident of Oconee County or Pickens County

Scholarship for a worthy, capable, and deserving student from Oconee County whose parents' or guardians' chief source of income is from the farm. If no suitable candidate is available from Oconee County, then a Pickens County resident may be awarded the scholarship.

JoAnn Chamblee McCaskill Scholarship

Deadline: April 15

This scholarship is awarded over both the fall and spring semesters.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • 3.00 GPA
  • Enrolled in College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences major
  • Graduate of Lee Academy in Bishopville, SC (preferred)

This scholarship is for students majoring in the College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Life Sciences. First preference is given to graduates of Lee Academy in Bishopville, South Carolina enrolling to study Agriculture. Second preference given to Lee Academy graduates enrolling to study forestry or life sciences. If there are no qualifying students from Lee Academy, the scholarship will be awarded to a student enrolled in the required disciplines in the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences, in priority order. Precedence will also be given to students who have exemplified leadership, character and have made contributions to the welfare of the community.

John W Parris '58 Endowed Scholarship

Deadline: April 15

This scholarship is awarded over both the fall and spring semesters.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • 3.00 GPA
  • Need Based (FAFSA required)
  • Enrolled in Agribusiness, Agricultural Education, Agricultural Mechanization and Business, Animal and Veterinary Sciences, Environmental & Natural Resources, Forest Resource Management, Horticulture, Plant and Environmental Sciences, or Wildlife and Fisheries Biology major

Scholarship for students who are enrolled in Agricultural Science majors or Natural Resources majors within the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences. The recipient must display acceptable academic credentials, as well as a need for financial assistance. First preference will be given to students who exhibit leadership potential.

Paul K. Bowman Jr. Scholarship

Deadline: April 15

This scholarship is awarded over both the fall and spring semesters.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Legal residents of South Carolina, preferably Sumter County
  • Major within the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences
  • Need Based (FAFSA required)
  • Academic Good Standing (GPA > 2.0)

Established as a memorial to Paul K. Bowman, Jr., Clemson College Class of 1944, who was killed in action during World War II in the Battle of the Bulge. The scholarships were created by Paul Kennedy Bowman, father of Paul K. Bowman, Jr. Recipients must be attending or planning to attend Clemson University for the purpose of receiving or furthering an education and must be worthy of assistance and unable to pay their own tuition.

Note: This scholarship is selected and awarded by a private committee external to Clemson University. The College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences collects applications/nominations on their behalf. Scholarships are paid directly to Clemson University for tuition and other fees.

SC Master Farm Homemakers Guild Annual Scholarship

Deadline: April 15

This scholarship is awarded over both the fall and spring semesters.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • 3.00 GPA
  • Need Based (FAFSA required)
  • Enrolled in Agribusiness, Agricultural Education, Agricultural Mechanization and Business, Animal and Veterinary Sciences, Forest Resource Management, Horticulture, Plant and Environmental Sciences, or Turfgrass major

Need-based scholarship for students majoring or intending to major in Agricultural majors within the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences.

South Carolina Rural Rehabilitation Scholarship

Deadline: April 15

This scholarship is awarded over both the fall and spring semesters.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • 2.50 GPA
  • Enrolled in College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences major
  • South Carolina resident
  • Certification that immediate family receives farm income

The South Carolina Rural Rehabilitation Corporation provides financial support each year to undergraduate students enrolled at Clemson University who are majoring in agriculture, food, environmental and natural resource related majors with a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA. Students must self-identify they are residents of South Carolina and that they or their immediate family are receiving money from some type of agricultural operation. This scholarship is renewable each year and the amount of scholarship funds awarded depends on amount of funds available and number of eligible students each year.

Southeast Produce Council Annual Scholarship

Deadline: September 15

This scholarship is awarded for the spring semester only.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • 3.00 GPA
  • Enrolled in College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences major
  • Interest in a career in growing or marketing produce (preferred)

Merit-based scholarships for a student enrolled or enrolling into the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences. Student recipients will also have the opportunity to attend the Southeast Produce Council's Southern Exposure Conference & Expo in Orlando, Florida. If the students attend the conference, round trip travel expenses for the event will be covered by the Southeast Produce Council. Student Financial Aid is not contingent on conference attendance.

The student recipients selected are part of the SEPC STARS (Southeast Top Agricultural Recruits Scholarship) program and it is preferred that students have demonstrated an interest in growing and/or marketing of produce. The scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to meet with hundreds of produce industry grower/shipper members as well as the nation’s leading retailers and foodservice distributors.
