Financial Obligations
If selected to the class, a non-refundable tuition fee of $3,900 will be required for participation. Participants will be asked to pay the tuition in two $1,950, the first half prior to the beginning of the first seminar of the first year and the second at prior to the beginning of the first seminar of the second year.
Participants may pay the tuition fee personally or solicit funding from local sponsors. The PLEAF program may attempt to assist any qualified candidate find local sponsors, or in extreme cases the program may provide scholarship funds to a deserving participant. The cost of the program is significantly higher than tuition costs and it is the generosity of sponsors that allows us to create such a program for our state.
Tuition for the program is based on double occupancy at standard hotels and multiple occupancy at camp-like venues. Single occupancy (when available) will be offered to participants. Those who choose single occupancy will be responsible for any charges above the rate of double occupancy. Payment is due at the close of each session that incurs additional charges. Participants will also be asked to determine if their sponsoring organization is willing to pay their rooming charges to help support the budget of PLEAF by sharing lodging costs.
In addition to tuition expenses, participants will be responsible for in-state transportation costs to each seminar as well as any incidental expenses incurred during travel and at hotels (telephone, room service, bar, TV movies etc.). The class members must pay these expenses at the time of service or departure. Generally speaking during actual program scheduled activities, the PLEAF program will arrange to provide the participants with meals. During evening hours and on other occasions, participants will be on their own to provide meals. Any out of the ordinary financial obligations for seminars will be specifically defined to participants.
