Honors Program Enrichment Fee
Supporting the Honors Student Experience
Students in the Clemson University Honors College have access to a wide range of applied, interdisciplinary academic programs; personal, academic, and professional development opportunities and resources; and a rich community of peers, staff, and faculty from across the University to support their growth and success in and out of the classroom.
Honors programs and opportunities are specifically designed to enhance the Clemson undergraduate student experience for students in the Honors College. Our students have access to research and program opportunities that broaden their perspectives in ways that many say create their most valuable experiences on campus. These opportunities also often strengthen our Honors students’ abilities to compete for major fellowships, internships, graduate school, and employment.
Honors students also have access to a wide range of Honors course options, including specialized seminars where they can explore a topic in-depth with a Clemson professor, as well as Honors sections of classes in their majors – where they benefit from smaller class sizes and a more in-depth approach to learning.
If an Honors student wants to delve further into a specific topic, they also have the opportunity to work with leading faculty on applied learning and research opportunities, where they can do advanced study, often resulting in a thesis, portfolio of creative works, or major research project.
These benefits are supported by an Honors program enrichment fee. Clemson is not unique in charging these types of fees, but we want to be transparent about them. These funds help ensure Honors students can benefit from all the advantages of learning at one of the nation’s leading public universities along with the small classes, individualized attention, and innovative programs that define the Clemson Honors experience.
