Clemson Honors Student Ambassadors
Looking for a Student Perspective on Clemson Honors?
Clemson Honors Student Ambassadors are Honors student volunteers who are official ambassadors for the Honors College and who are passionate about Honors at Clemson University.
Ambassadors meet with prospective students and their families to provide a student perspective on their various Honors experiences.
They are a diverse group of students, representing each of Clemson's academic colleges listed below, and they are involved in all aspects of campus life. They are developing communication, teamwork, and leadership skills as they interact with prospective students and their families.
You can read more about each ambassador within their major's college.

Introduction: Hey! I'm Deena Warid, a junior pursuing a biochemistry and genetics major with an ASL studies minor. I'm from North Charleston, SC and after undergrad I plan to go into a PhD program for biochemistry and/or genetics. I like making friendship bracelets, reading historical fiction and memoirs, and playing rhythm games in my free time.
Ask me about...: Ask me about the organizations I'm a part of and the Honors College resources
My advice for prospective students: If you want to do research at Clemson, reach out to faculty early and at least see what you can do to gain the skills needed to join their lab later.
My advice for current students: Make use of the organizations on Clemson! So many great communities here that can make Clemson feel like a home away from home and help create a fulfilling college experience.
Why I chose Clemson and the Honors College: Clemson University has one of the best biochemistry programs in the state and the honors college seemed like a great resource to help with grad school.
My favorite thing about the Honors College: The wonderful Honors College staff that I've had such a pleasure working with! They're all so encouraging and help make honors a great shared space. The Honors College couldn't be what it is right now without them!
My involvement in the Honors College: I'm the Honors College Inclusive Excellence UPIC Intern, part of the Honors CI: CCARE, and an Honors Student Ambassador. I've previously been part of the Dixon Fellows program and participated in online EUREKA! 2022.
My involvement in Clemson University: I'm a COSMIC mentor, member of the College of Science Student Advisory Board, Clemson University Student Government (CUSG) SAGE, oSTEM, and do research in the Dr. Ingram-Smith and Dr.Benson Labs
Favorite place on campus: The Gunnin Architecture Library! It's on the edge of campus, so it's never too busy. The natural lighting helps in creating a nice study space.
My future goals: Get into a PhD program doing research in a pathogen related field.
