Introduction: Hey y'all! My name is Katherine Taylor, and I am a first year Spanish, Italian, and international business major from Beaufort, South Carolina. When I'm not studying for classes, I love staying involved on campus as a tour guide and member of the undergraduate student government on the freshman council! As of right now, after my time at Clemson, I plan to attend graduate school before entering the field of international risk management.
Ask me about...: Clemson undergraduate student government, tour guides, Italian club, Greek life, and food recommendations!!
My advice for prospective students: Trust the process, college applications and admissions can be scary and so stressful, so remember to take time to breath and know that everything will end up the way that it should be!
My advice for current students: Get as involved as you possibly can, try out or everything, run for positions, just pour in to your time here because it is finite and fleeting. Getting as involved as possible has been the biggest blessing in my time here at Clemson and I am so grateful I chose to put myself out there.
Why I chose Clemson and the Honors College: I graduated with thirty-two kids, which, believe it or not, was big for my school. I was with most of the same kids for all twelve years of my schooling. When it came time to choose a university, I knew that I wanted a school that was a little larger than what I was used to while still having the small classrooms where I could form meaningful relationships with professors. Clemson's Honors College has given me just that, the tight knit community within the honors college has been a great way to form those closer relationships with faculty, while still giving me the opportunity to be at a larger school like Clemson.
My favorite thing about the Honors College: My favorite thing about the Honors College is the immense opportunities and support it has already provided to me, even just a semester in. I have started getting involved and pouring in to my honors college community, and I can't wait to see what opportunities will arise through it in my future here at Clemson.
My involvement in the Honors College: My involvement within the Honors College specifically is limited to being an ambassador, but in the future, I do plan on getting involved within other honors programs and opportunities!
My involvement in Clemson University: I am involved in Greek life as the Vice President of New Member Education for the Theta Lambda chapter of Alpha Chi Omega, the founder and president of the Italian Culture and Conversation Club of Clemson, a member of the Clemson University Guide Association, and a member of the Clemson University Undergraduate Student Government serving on Freshman Council.
Orange or purple?: Purple
Favorite place on campus: You can find me on the third floor of the Cooper Library! I love having a place to really dive deep into my studies while also getting to see so many of my friends down there too!
Three interesting facts about me: I studied abroad in Italy during a gap year, I was nationally ranked in speech and debate during high school, and I absolutely love sharks!
