My involvement in the Honors College: Throughout my time in the Honors College I have been involved in the EUREKA! Program, Dixon Fellows, and Honors College Student Ambassador Program
My involvement in Clemson University: I am a member of the Clemson University Symphony Orchestra and involved in Clemson Wesley which is a campus ministry here at Clemson. I am also a PAL leader for general chemistry courses. I really enjoy being involved in these different organizations here at Clemson and if you have any questions about what they offer please let me know.
Why I chose Clemson and the Honors College: I chose Clemson Honors because I saw all of the benefits that being a member of the Clemson University Honors College had. You get priority registration for classes, you are able to live in the honors residential college, able to take honors classes, and are able to participate in the experiences and events that the Honors College offers. One program that made me interested in Clemson Honors was the EUREKA! Program. Coming into college I knew that I was interested in research and this program gave me a glimpse into what research is like before I even started classes and has given me the opportunity to be involved in science research labs on campus since the fall of my sophomore year. This is a program I would highly recommend looking into if you are interested at all in pursuing undergraduate research here at Clemson. One thing that made me choose Clemson specifically outside of the Honors College is that the chemistry department requires students to obtain 6 credit hours of undergraduate research to graduate with a bachelors of science in chemistry. This requirement of research made me excited, as I knew going into my freshman year that I wanted to get involved in undergraduate research. I also found that not every school I had applied to had this requirement while Clemson did. I also chose Clemson because I wanted a school that had big sports and Clemson has had recent success with many of their athletic programs and I enjoy attending as many sporting events as I can each semester.
