Introduction: My name is Makenzie Jones, I’m a Junior Bioengineering major with minors in MSE and computer science! I’m involved in undergraduate tissue engineering research, Alpha Omega Epsilon professional Sorority, the Bioengineering Student Advisory Council, and work as a Residential Community Mentor! After graduating, I hope to pursue a Ph.D. in bioengineering and have a career in academia.
Ask me about...: Studying abroad! Alpha Omega Epsilon! Undergraduate Research! Or where to find the best workouts in Clemson!
My advice for prospective students: Always keep an open mind! You never know where or when new opportunities will pop up! Don’t set your heart on one school too quickly and miss out on these new opportunities.
My advice for current students: Working hard and playing hard are the keys to surviving college!
Why I chose Clemson and the Honors College: The community at Clemson was what brought me here. It was unlike any other school I had visited. I chose the Honors College for the numerous outside the classroom learning opportunities Honors students have the option to engage in!
My favorite thing about the Honors College: How supportive everyone is! We want to succeed together and work to do so. It’s not a competition, it’s about pushing each other to be the best person we can be!
My involvement in the Honors College: I work as a Residential Community Mentor in the Honors Dorms, I’ve received a conference travel grant, and a summer educational enrichment grant to support external research opportunities.
