Introduction: Hi! My name is Maddie Kelly, and I'm a sophomore Marketing major and Financial Management minor from Gaithersburg, Maryland (around 40 minutes outside DC). I love spending time with friends, exercise classes, and baking. In the future, I hope to pursue a career that allows me to utilize my analytical skills and interest in sales.
Ask me about...: being out of state, Greek Life, my top Handel's ice cream flavors, the best places to study on campus!
My advice for prospective students: Surround yourself with great people! Your friends will truly become your second family.
My advice for current students: Take advantage of Clemson's resources! We have so many intelligent professors, mentorship programs, and career advancement opportunities. Everyone here truly wants to help you - you just have to try! Go to office hours, get advice from the professionals that come, and attend club meetings. It'll make such a significant difference in your journey here and after college.
Why I chose Clemson and the Honors College: As cliche as it may sound, Clemson felt like home for me when I stepped onto the campus. I knew I wanted to transition into a bigger school, but I also wanted to find comfort and community, both of which Clemson has. The Honors College furthered my enthusiasm with its smaller/more personalized classes, research opportunities, and incredible students and staff.
My favorite thing about the Honors College: My favorite thing about the Honors College is the Honors Center. It's in such a convenient location and provides a perfect, quiet place to study (especially during exam weeks). I also love going with fellow honors students and grabbing a study room together!
My involvement in the Honors College: I've been a part of the Honors College since freshman year so I've taken multiple honors courses and have participated in many events hosted by the Wellness Ambassadors. I'm also clearly a student ambassador!
My involvement in Clemson University: At Clemson, I hold a leadership position in the Alpha Chi Omega sorority, and I'm also a member of Women in Business, Tiger Ties Professional Mentoring, and the Sales Club.
