Introduction: Hello, I'm Norah! I'm a junior Criminal Justice and Economics double major with minors in business administration and global politics, and I'm originally from Ridgewood, NJ. I love to cook, go on walks, travel, and watch movies/tv shows. Currently I'm exploring two career paths, working in federal law enforcement as an intelligence analysis (IA) or becoming a lawyer.
Ask me about...: Clemson Undergraduate Student Government (CUSG), the Clemson Student Funding Board, internship opportunities, transitioning to southern life, and the best things to do with free time.
My advice for prospective students: Think about who you represent on campus, and try to connect with that community.
My advice for current students: Make connections early. Build relationships with professors, advisors, and fellow students in the most genuine way you can!
Why I chose Clemson and the Honors College: The Honors College offers opportunities for more personalized attention, specialized coursework, and an academic environment that helps me stand out as I'm pursuing my goals in public service and law enforcement.
My favorite thing about the Honors College: The niche seminars offered. I loved taking "Religions, Secret Societies, and Cults" during my freshman year fall semester!
My involvement in the Honors College: I'm an Honors College Ambassador, and as a first-year student, I lived in the Honors Residential College. During my sophomore year, I served as an Honors Peer Mentor to a group of 4 honors freshman. Now, I'm a freelance model for the Clemson Honors College merchandise page!
My involvement in Clemson University: I am currently involved in Clemson Undergraduate Student Government on the Judicial Branch, and during my sophomore I was selected as the Elections Director for senate, judicial, and executive elections. During my freshman and sophomore years, I served on the Student Funding Board and helped make decisions on fiscal allocation for nearly 500 clubs and organizations on campus. In terms of work, I am a UPIC Intern for the Career Center for a startup Generative and Business Research initiative.
If I could travel anywhere: It is my dream to travel to Egypt. I'm a huge history nerd, and I've been wanting to see the rich history and culture there.
My spirit animal: My spirit animal is a shark because they are strong, adaptable, and resilient.
My favorite Clemson class: My favorite classes I’ve taken were the Russian Language courses (RUSS 1010-2010). When I started college, I knew I wanted to learn a new language. Given that my mom's side of the family already speaks Russian fluently, it felt like the perfect choice. On the first day of my Elementary Russian class, I was surprised to discover that the language has an entirely different alphabet! From that moment on, Russian has presented a unique challenge, but I’ve embraced it step by step. Now, I’m in my third year of learning the language and continue to be fascinated by it!
Three interesting facts about me: I've climbed Machu Picchu, traveled to all 50 states, and I'm named after 3 music artists (Norah Jones, Janis Joplin, and Train).
