They are a diverse group of students, representing each of Clemson's academic colleges listed below, and they are involved in all aspects of campus life. They are developing communication, teamwork, and leadership skills as they interact with prospective students and their families.

Introduction: Hey! My name is Ryan Meyer and I am from Simpsonville, South Carolina! I am currently double majoring in economics and management. Some of my interests include spending time with family and friends, reading, playing and watching sports, and learning new things. My future goals include getting a master's degree and potentially a Ph.D. and traveling across the United States and the world.
Ask me about...: You can ask me about how I came to call Clemson my home, my favorite places on campus, my favorite things to do at Clemson, Clemson’s FCA, Clemson’s Honors College, and some tips and tricks I used when I was trying to find financial aid and choose the college that was best for me.
My advice for prospective students: My advice for prospective students is to find a place that feels like home to you and to not be afraid to ask questions. College is a big change from high school and marks the beginning of the next chapter in your life - it is important to find a place that is a good school academically but is also a good fit for you.
My advice for current students: My advice for current students is to enjoy the time you have at Clemson while you have it. You never know what tomorrow may bring and time is precious. These are memories and friendships that you will have and cherish for the rest of your life so it is so important to be an active student at Clemson rather than just attending classes.
Why I chose Clemson and the Honors College: I chose Clemson Honors and Clemson University as a school largely due to the sense of family that I felt when I came to campus when I was applying to different colleges. The Honors College at Clemson is incredibly tight-knit and had the research opportunities and structure that I wanted in an honors college. As a whole school, the students of Clemson really made the student population feel like one big family, which is something I did not see at any other school I visited.
My favorite thing about the Honors College: My favorite thing about the Honors College are the Honors seminar classes that you can take. These classes are smaller than a typical class and are very similar to a Socratic seminar, just without the stress that a high school Socratic seminar carries. You get to know the students in the class and the professor very well and the topics covered in different seminars are incredibly interesting.
My involvement in the Honors College: My involvement in Clemson Honors includes being an Honors Ambassador and being an alumni of the EUREKA! 2021 program. I am looking to join the Dixon Fellows program next school year!
My involvement in Clemson University: At Clemson, I am involved in Clemson’s FCA, intramural sports, and am always looking for more ways to get involved!
Orange or purple?: Purple
If I could travel anywhere: I would travel to New Zealand. As a country, New Zealand is beautiful with its mountains and bodies of water.
My spirit animal: My spirit animal is a penguin because like me, they are very free-spirited and happy in their lives.
My favorite Clemson class: My favorite Clemson class that I have taken is an honors seminar called Imaginary Friends in Fiction. This class has a smaller class size and the discussion in the class is incredibly thought-provoking and interesting!
What did you do this summer?: Before my first year on campus, I participated in the EUREKA! program. My research project was on crop genetic engineering for enhanced abiotic stress tolerance in transgenic creeping bentgrass. I had a great time and was able to do some research on an area that was outside of my comfort zone, learn about Clemson, and make some great friendships!
How has the Honors College made a difference in your life?: The Honors College has made a difference in my life through the education that I have received and the friendships that I have made within the Honors Residential College. My education has become more personal through the Honors College and I have formed great relationships with Honors staff and professors. The friendships that I have made through the Honors College are friendships that I know will last a lifetime.
