Introduction: Hello! I am Claire Leopold. I am a junior from Alexandria, Virginia which is just about five minutes outside of Washington D.C.. I am majoring in Finance and Accounting and minoring in Political Science. In my free time I love running, cooking, and hanging out with friends. I hope in the future I graduate, adopt a pet, and move to a big city.
Ask me about...: Oconee County Humane Society! I love volunteering there. There are so many adorable cats and dogs waiting to be adopted.
My advice for prospective students: Go where you feel most at home.
My advice for current students: Make relationships with your professors! They can help with so much whether it be internships or class work.
Why I chose Clemson and the Honors College: When I visited Clemson, I immediately felt at home here. Specifically, I chose the Honors College because it has allowed me to dive deeper into my education and have smaller classes while still attending a big school.
My favorite thing about the Honors College: My favorite thing about the Honors College is the study rooms. The study rooms are always available and are a great, quiet place to focus.
My involvement in the Honors College: I love being involved in the seminar Honors courses offered and of course the Honors Ambassadors program!
My involvement in Clemson University: I am involved in Greek Life as a Director of Academic Excellence for Delta Delta Delta. I also am a part of the Leadership Signature Program and have a job at the Gunnin Architecture Library.
If I could travel anywhere: I would travel to Portugal because of the interesting culture and beautiful cities.
Three things I cannot live without: I can't live without coffee, my earbuds, and the beach.
My favorite Clemson class: My favorite class I have taken at Clemson was Global Feminism because it challenged me to think critically for group discussions about the role women play throughout the Middle East.
Favorite place on campus: You can find me on the second floor of the library, or in Core Starbucks.
My future goals: In general, as long as I am happy, that is good for me. Other than that though I would love to work in New York City running the financial division of a company.
What are your plans after graduation?: After graduation, I am hoping to have a job lined up and move to New York City to start that job.
How has the Honors College made a difference in your life?: The honors college has elevated my education by allowing me to think more critically and have smaller class discussions about topics I am interested in.
