Faculty Development

After the recruitment and onboarding stages of the journey, Clemson Faculty will find many opportunities and resources for successfully navigating requirements and individual career goals. Supporting the “development” of our faculty takes on many meanings that often depend on context. On this page, faculty and others will find links to events, entities, projects, and programs that foster faculty development. Please note the guide below is not exhaustive but introduces the multiple University offices and entities, including but not limited to Faculty Affairs, that strive to provide extensive support in processes and programs associated with the faculty development journey.

At all stages of the faculty career journey, information that helps faculty to enhance, report, and reflect on teaching and research/scholarship/creative activity is relevant. Teaching and Student Mentoring

Office of Teaching Effectiveness and Innovation

The Office of Teaching Effectiveness and Innovation (OTEI) provides consultations and programming across Clemson for instructors at all levels.

Clemson Online

Clemson Online provides personalized support to faculty through teams with expertise in online development and learning technology. Faculty will find services and tools such as Simple Syllabus, LMS (Canvas) support, Quality Matters standards and certification information, accessibility information, and much more.

Division of Undergraduate Learning

The Division of Undergraduate Learning engages with faculty to enhance academic policies and procedures, the general education curriculum, teaching and advising, and learning opportunities.

The Graduate School

The Graduate School provides many resources for faculty, including recruiting and retention tools, policies and procedures and information about academic advisors.
