Memberships & Networking
Students interact with an expert network of professionals and organizations. The MRED program is actively involved with many regional and national organizations, including the Urban Land Institute (ULI), National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR), Congress for New Urbanism (CNU), Counselors of Real Estate (CRE), Commercial.Real.Estate.Women (CREW Upstate) and the American Resort Development Association (ARDA).
We are an accredited institution for fast track application to be a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM). We have been a proud and honored recipient of annual financial support from the SIOR Foundation and the Carolinas SIOR Chapter since 2004.
We are involved with the development industry through roundtables, presentations, tours and conferences. The result is an MRED graduate who has had exposure to all aspects of the industry and has unlimited networking opportunities. Tuition includes the costs of several memberships, conferences, and trips.
All of our students are members of:
Urban Land Institute (ULI)
NAIOP
The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC)
USGBC South Carolina Chapter
We are a Founding Sponsor of the SC District Council of ULI. The Clemson MRED program closely follows the principles of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), which believes that development is a public-private partnership and that quality development requires integrating the perspectives of community, environment and economics. So it is a vital part of our study to attend ULI’s Fall National Conference where students can be exposed to all of the benefits and learning what the organization has to offer.
All MRED students attend the Fall ULI National Conference and are given the opportunity to attend other regional conferences to learn the breadth of the business and network with key industry leaders. Students network with 6,000 development leaders for four to five days at Fall ULI conferences in major cities such as New York City, Miami Beach, San Francisco, Washington DC, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas.
Attending the Fall Urban Land Institute Conference allows students to:
- Meet key players in the industry.
- Learn about cutting edge technology and ideas from speakers and exhibitors.
- Tour cutting edge projects.
- Immersion in an environment of success within the real estate development industry.
- Overall, the environment is energizing, the experience is invaluable!
