Development Tours
Students tour developments and meet numerous professionals during their program. Early Career students tour the South Carolina Coast for seven to ten days in May using Charleston, SC as a home base for coastal site tours. During this tour, you will study some of the nation’s premier resort, hotel, historic, mixed-use, golf, master-planned and new urbanist communities (optional for Experienced Development Professionals). Extended trips to Atlanta and Charlotte—less than two hours away, are a routine part of the curriculum, as well as one-day class field trips to Asheville and Columbia. The 1.4 million Upstate has excellent developments by regional and national developers that allow the students to visit and meet with top development officials.
All MRED students attend the Fall ULI Conference to visit leading edge developments, expand their horizons and network with real estate leaders. We always tour key projects in the central core of the conference cities the day prior to the sessions. Our students come away from this intense conference with industry insight and valuable connections.
