European History; Soviet Union and Russia since 1945; disability; gender

Professor Hoge specializes in Soviet and Post-Soviet History, as well as the study of gender and disability. She received her Ph.D from the University of California, Berkeley in 2023. She is currently working on her book project, titled Combat Brotherhood: Disabled Soviet Afghan War Veterans, Organized Crime, and the Mafia State, which focuses on disabled veterans of the Soviet Afghan War in Russia, who became involved with organized crime after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
