About History and Geography
Clemson's Department of History and Geography is home to faculty members who cover a wide range of fields and who have been honored with numerous awards for both teaching and scholarship. The department offers several three undergraduate programs of study leading to the Bachelor of Arts in History: As an alternative to the standard history major, students may choose to complete their B.A. with emphasis areas of public history or digital history. Undergraduate minors in both history and geography are also available.
The department also offers graduate studies leading to a Master of Arts in history, and in 2022 will begin welcoming students to the new Digital History PhD program, the first of its kind in the country.
The Department of History and Geography is located in Hardin Hall, the oldest academic building on Clemson's campus. Thanks to massive restoration completed on the building in 2002, Hardin Hall features some of the most innovative classroom technology for interactive teaching and learning.
