Initiatives and Programs

The Office of Undergraduate Learning supports and leads multiple initiatives and programs at Clemson University to create a strong academic foundation for undergraduate students, as well as support resources and tools to help each student thrive in their unique academic environment. In addition, we provide resources and programs to support instructors as they deliver exceptional academic experiences.

Initiatives

CU 1000

CU 1000 is a zero-credit, pass/no-pass course that introduces new students to their available success resources and the University’s community standards and values during their first semester on campus.

Experiential Learning

From study abroad to Creative Inquiry, undergraduate research and professional experiences, see what experiential learning entails and how it can enhance your Clemson Experience.

Crossings

Crossings is Clemson University’s general education curriculum for undergraduate students. See how we integrate students’ intellectual and personal growth through our curriculum.

First-Year Student Programs

First Generation Success Program

The FIRST program provides support, resources and mentorship to students who are the first in their family to attend a four-year college or university.

Summer Start

Summer Start is an admission program through which first-year applicants are offered Summer admission into Clemson.

STEM Start

STEM Start is a free summer admission program for first-generation and/or Pell Eligible college students from South Carolina who are pursuing degrees in STEM.

Global Start

Global Start is an admission program enables first-year students to begin their Clemson education with a summer study abroad experience.

Bridge to Clemson

The Bridge Program invites select students to make progress toward their intended Clemson degree while taking classes at Tri-County Technical College their first year and preparing to enroll at Clemson their second year.
