Profile

Dr. Sehgal is originally from India. Her passion lies in exploring how plants adapt to harsh conditions and leveraging this knowledge to strengthen food security. Sehgal’s research focuses on developing strategies to enhance abiotic stress tolerance in food crops, particularly in the face of climate change. She is driven by the goal of creating sustainable agriculture solutions that ensure crop productivity. She is driven to understand how plants adapt to environmental stress and how we can leverage physiological strategies to optimize plant performance.

Research Interests

Dr. Sehgal is interested in understanding how far our food crop varieties can be pushed and what methods can be used to buffer the worst impacts of climate chaos.
