Profile
Chandler Abrams is the Training and Exercise Coordinator for Clemson University Livestock-Poultry Health, or CULPH, directed by the South Carolina State Veterinarian. At CULPH, she engages in various animal disease and emergency management activities, primarily developing and coordinating training, drills, and exercises to ensure the office is prepared for animal disease responses. During the 2022 South Carolina Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza response, she served as the Planning Section Chief for the CULPH Incident Management Team.
As part of the state’s disaster response, she staffs the agriculture and animals Emergency Support Function 17 to support SC agribusiness, animal health and safety, and food/feed supply chains. Chandler also staffs the mass care Emergency Support Function 6, providing technical expertise and support for resource coordination related to emergency pet sheltering.
Chandler grew up in Columbia, South Carolina and received her B.S. in Animal and Veterinary Sciences from Clemson University, where she had the opportunity to engage in small and large ruminant research and handling.
