Profile

I teach Herpetology for Clemson and for my full time job, I am a Tenured Professor at Southern Wesleyan University (SWU) where I teach a variety of Ecological and Organismal classes. I also lead Study Away programs for SWU and have taken students to California (2019), Kenya (2021--cancelled because of covid), and Utah (2021), Arizona/New Mexico (2022), Costa Rica (2023), Washington State (2024) to explore the unique ecology of these regions.

Research Interests

Wildlife Ecology with a focus on life history information on reptiles and amphibians. I.e. What do they do in situ and why? I enjoy employing mark/recapture techniques including radio telemetry to better understand individual (and hopefully populations) of herps in different habitats. My animal of choice is the snake and my Masters and Dissertation were on the Timber Rattlesnake (Crotalus horridus).
