Research Interests

Than Dam is a Climate-smart Postdoctoral Fellow at the Plant and Environmental Sciences Department, at Clemson University. Her research is centered on soil biogeochemical cycles, influenced by various environmental factors, to gain a better understanding of chemical processes occurring in soils. She employs a combination of traditional chemical methods and advanced techniques such as X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy to study soil biogeochemistry and nutrient availability. Her current research focuses on assessing the implications of different climate-smart agricultural practices and their impacts on soil health and greenhouse gas emissions to develop more sustainable and resilient agricultural solutions.
