Pregnancy Accommodations for Employees

In compliance with South Carolina law, Clemson University will not discriminate against an individual because of pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions, including, but not limited to, lactation.

Beyond adhering to state laws, the Office of Access Compliance and Education works to support reasonable accommodations for employees who have medical needs related topregnancy, childbirth, abortion, or related medical conditions. We seek to support University employees as they prepare and enter parenthood, and we are available to answer questions employees have as they navigate this process.

For more information, view Clemson University’s Notice of Pregnancy Accommodation Rights.

How to Request a Pregnancy Accommodation

If you are an employee who needs to request an accommodation related to pregancy that is covered under the Pregnancy Workers Fairness Act or the S.C. Pregnancy Accommodation Act, please inform your supervisor or the University ADA coordinator located in the Office of Access Compliance and Education of your need for accommodation.

Students who need to request a pregnancy accommodation should reach out to Clemson University’s Title IX Coordinator, Alesia Smith at 864-656-3181 or alesias@clemson.edu.

Lactation Network at Clemson University
