State Relations

As a state-supported, land-grant institution, Clemson is present in every county across South Carolina and plays an integral role in the state’s growth. The University adheres to state laws and regulations and is also charged with establishing and monitoring extensive state regulations dealing with health and safety issues.

To remain true to the University’s mission of supporting South Carolina through top-tier educational, research and workforce development opportunities, Governmental Affairs works with all levels of state government, including the Office of State Relations, Governor’s Office and General Assembly. Having strong relationships with state officials allows this office to provide them with insights into how policies can affect the University and information on Clemson’s positive impact on South Carolina.
